We care about what our students wear and we respect each student's unique style. We also know that some types of clothing and accessories can be distracting and even harmful to our students. We ask for your help in guiding our students to follow common sense as well as the guidelines below.

Maricopa Wells students wear solid colored, striped, or plaid shirts, blouses, and turtlenecks. They do not wear tank tops or shirts that reveal the midriff. Also, we issue all students a picture I.D. card. If a student loses the I.D., he or she may purchase a new one at the school bookstore. Maricopa Wells students always wear their I.D. cards while at school.

What is the Maricopa Wells attendance policy?

We inspire and support every child to succeed. We believe regular attendance is a vital ingredient to ensure that your student achieves his or her best. You can help by scheduling appointments for off-school hours and helping your child always be on time and prepared. We use a computerized call system to notify parents or guardians of an absent student within two hours after the first class of the day. Should an absence occur, Maricopa Wells parents and students verify absences in writing within 24 hours. We recommend you keep a file at home for doctor's excuses, court summonses, funeral notices, etc. If the student has more than five absences in a class, he or she risks losing class credit.

What are the guidelines for cell phones, electronics, and other valuables?

Many students want the privilege of carrying electronic devices, such as cellular phones, pagers, music players, etc, on campus. That privilege requires responsibility. Maricopa students do not use such items in the classroom. If any device makes a noise, vibrates, or in any way creates a distraction, we will confiscate the device and hold it in the school office until the end of the day. We request that students not use electronic music players on campus or on school buses. Students who choose to bring electronics, or other valuables to school assume the responsibility of possible loss, theft, or damage.
